The State of Cougar Football

OK Cougar fans let’s jump right in to one of the hottest topics in WSU athletics- Cougar Football. So we are halfway through the football season. What’s your take on the rebuilding football rebuilding process? Clearly the Cougs have improved to the point where we are scoring points & the games area not complete blowouts. That said, we are in year 3 of the Paul Wulff program and we are sitting at 1-21 and have lost every game by 13 points or more.

How does this compare to U of W who is in year 2 of rebuilding their program? I remember when U of W fans were upset that WSU let Coach Doba go and U of W kept Coach Willingham one more year before letting him go. Should the Cougar football program be farther along at this point? Coach Steve Sarkisian appears to have turned the UW program around, what about the Cougs? Are we just one win away or is it time to a coaching change. Coach Wulff has certainly recruited better players that the previous coaching staff but is that enough with the losses continuing to mount. At this point, can we expect to even win 2 out of 5 remaining games? If we do, is that success enough to keep Coug fans & the administration happy to see the rebuilding process through another year. Clearly, a win against the Huskies would win the hearts of many Cougs fans and probably give Coach Wulff another year. Let’s hope for the best….Go Cougs
